So far it seems the issues in the reviews are business related with just a minor example or two of technical problems. Also since no one so far has cited their specific water chemistry to be treated I'm guessing they were not very involved in doing their homework - that's just plain laziness.

My hardness was 58, 600 TDS, a slight iron content and slight sulfur content. I was quoted an S350 and K5A RO system for a little over $5k. A lesser system from Rain Soft was higher by at least $1k and did not include anything near what was available from Kinetico. Before the Kinetico system was installed the dealer opted to upgrade me from a residential to a small commercial system CP213 because of my difficult water chemistry, a WOW RO system with a 14gal RO holding tank and a pre-filter - all for the original price.

All equipment was installed in the basement with the necessary RO lines run to the kitchen sink and ice maker on the first floor - I have no RO tank under the sink as would have been the case with Rain Soft, everything is professionally installed in the basement.

Now, I've only had the system for a week and within the first two days the dealer returned to check and adjust the control head but I understand the need to monitor and adjust any sort of new installation - so far I am a happy camper. There are several other technical advantages of the Kinetico I have not taken the time to discuss.

.

My dealer is Aqua Clear in Lenoir City TN and the rep is Mike Crawford, an incredibly knowledgeable person in water chemistry.

Reason of review: Good quality.

So the people who experienced issues are just illiterate fools? It appears several of them did their homework before deciding on the Kinetico system.

Did you ask the cost of upkeep? Or will you be pleasantly surprised when you need to replace the RO filters annually at $125 and the membrane every 3 years? Not to mention the service charge.

The first trip and half hour of labor are free, but then you're scalped at $70 per hour. But you can choose to live in your blissful little world because you did your research fully I'm sure.

Wow DL! You sound pissed because I am not..

go figure.

I posted my review on Sept 28 2014 - today is Feb 9 2015 and my only problem (not a problem really) is the system sits in the basement doing it's job so flawlessly and quietly I forget to check it from time to time.

.

ALL RO systems require maintenance - if you want clean water that is. In addition to Kinetico's longer replacement cycle, it wastes far less water than the Rain Soft system.

So far so good. .

BTW DL, I did not call anyone an illiterate fool, you did. Play nice, DL

RIDICULOUS. RO filters are aggregate polymers, that are expensive to manufacture to the specifications required for reverse osmosis effectiveness.

What's more, replacing membranes every THREE years is perfectly acceptable when your raw water is being treated at the specs quoted above. If you wanted something for nothing, you should have broken out your magic wand a long time ago.
