18 months ago, our Kinetico system, K60, 2 black tanks and a smaller tank for salt, completely stopped using salt. I asked for service, the local franchise, Dolphin Water in Orlando sent someone out.

He opened the valve and removed a small piece of lint, said it was fixed and left. It never used any salt again. Obviously, I cannot trust these people, calls to their office are not returned and the home office will not even talk to me. All the system does now is backflush once a day.

Buyer beware because service is important.

What else can I do to resolve this?

We have a complete system, dechlorinator, water softener, and RO with added minerals. We have not had any trouble, what we thought was a problem with the system turned out to be a problem with the plumbing, easy fix and no charge for the service.

We are going into our 5th year and would recommend this product. I cannot comment on the complaints above as they appear to be from the States and you might have different warranties or just bad dealers.

These systems are not worth the monies nor do they work as they are sold . No service,other than lip, from their distibutors.

The main company only refers you to their distributors who do little or nothing! I have removed their system after 5 years of complaints. a huge waste of $8700. I have installed a $2000 dollar system that actually works.

I had intended in sueing the people who sold me this junk but they have now closed their doors! good luck to anyone who deals with these clowns.

There's always one in a bunch lol. Sorry you had issues with your Kinetico.

BUT side by side the comparisons done by individual testing, Nothing compares to the quality water you receive with a Kinetico. Good luck with your electric system.

If the unit is not using salt, check for suction at the brine cycle. also check the flow rate of the backwash it may be clogged at the flow control and to slow to cause brine draw.

Clogged backwash flow control is a common problem. be sure you have pre filter I recommennd a 50 micron poly spun.

We purchased a water system from Du-Mor Water Systems in Dunlap,In.The sales pitch was great(the best there is)(we service units)(We will address any problems)and on and on.It worked fine for about 6 months and we couldn't get it to work.When we talk to our sales person he says(We found they were junk,but we have a better one now)Why should I trust them with a new one?When it's the same line and story that came with the 1st one.Really ticked off!!!!

I ddin't see anyone here mention bigbox stores as the problem.

the free trials and all of the special finance deals are a way to get you hooked. if you buy through the home depot the price includes a commission of approximately 600.00 to home depot. kinetico has new owners and they have turned into crooks and scammers.

You most likely have a problem in the salt tank. The salt may be bridged. If the valve is regenerating but not using any salt then that is probably what is happening.

tri-cities water store is a rip-off........3 month free trial is just a scam to get you to buy their *** equipment,,kinetico....kept having problems with particles getting in the head,,,,then it wouldn't work,,,,,the service department was slow in getting out to my house and then they couldn't leave fast enough.....they DO NOT care about the customer

I find that 90% of the Kinetico failures cand be preventented by a Prefilter

Can you explain what a prefilter is and how do I know if I have one? My kinetico is not using salt.

I have spent hours online looking up complaints on water systems, and finding 17 whole complaints about Kinetico reassures me I made the right decision when buying their product. A company in business for over 40 years nationwide with 17 complaints is actually quite respectable.

That, and reading these complaints and capable of discounting most, credibility is an issue with those complaining. Mine being installed on Tuesday and I can't wait.
